At his preschool he “read” The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle (he knows the story by heart), and I turned the pages for him. He’d pull the animals out of the small bin, and say there names in both English and Spanish: horse/caballo, cat/gato, etc. To end the story time session I passed out the lyrics to Boca Beth’s “The Animal Song/La canción de animales” so his teachers and classmates can sing along with him.
“TheAnimal Song/La canción de animales” (#8)
(Sing to the tune of “The Bear Went Over the Mountain”)
Hay un perro afuera,
Hay un perro afuera,
¡El dice woof!
There is a dog outside,
There is a dog outside,
There is a dog outside,
He says woof!
Hay un gato afuera,
Hay un gato afuera,
Hay un gato afuera,
¡El dice meow!
There is a cat outside,
There is a cat outside,
There is a cat outside,
He says meow!

Me vas a hacer llorar! Todos los días le ruego a Dios que me ayude a ser la mejor mamá que pueda para mi hijo, y le doy gracias a Dios que tengo un esposo que nos apoya al 100%! Abrazos amiguita!
What an amazing little guy you have – I love that he found such a perfect solution and enabled you to participate in story time with no voice! The Very Busy Spider is also a big favorite here!
What a lovely post! I love that he was ready to jump in and help out! And I remember well your post from last year – it was how I first "met" you! What a lucky day that was for me! 🙂
Awe thank you! He's definitely a problem solver LOL 🙂
Thank you Leanna! Yes, I remember, too when we "met"! LOL 🙂 It was a lucky day for both of us!
